30 by 30

  1. Take a week-long trip alone.
  2. Take a long road trip.
  3. Solo Abroad travel
  4. Start attending martial arts classes again. I miss KSW. I don't know if I can find a similar style, but I'd like to try.
  5. Run a 5K (without walking)
  6. Run a 10K
  7. Do 30 push ups without resting. I'm up to 20
  8. Do 10 pull ups without resting. I'm up to 6
  9. Debt Free (except student loans, as mine will be forgiven in a few years due to my job).
  10. Indulge in a spa day. Massage, facial, and, you know spa stuff. I've never had any of those.
  11. Play one song on the piano. I'm thinking something Disney. Maybe that awesome Mulan song. Or something 80's.
  12. Re-learn French. And read something by Camus. How cliche
  13. Learn to sew. Mostly to hem and alter.
  14. Adopt a more minimalist lifestyle. To me this means keeping my possessions tidy, not buying useless crap, focusing on one thing at a time instead of trying to do 20 things at once (I am often found watching Buffy with my computer open and my cell phone by my side), addressing things immediately (ie, don't leave mail to pile up, keep tabs on your todo list). This will all lead to a less cluttered house and a less cluttered head.
  15. Read thirty new books. Because it's 30 books, graphic novels count (Scott Pilgrim FTW!)

  1. Take a weekend trip alone. I think it's important to learn to be alone and be happy. You must be happy with yourself before you can be happy with others. I took a 4 day solo trip to Asheville. I'm counting that for the weekend trip!
  2. Have 6 months of essential expenses saved up. Roughly $5000. I'll be able to start working on this a week from tomorrow. Yes, that's my first awesome paycheck. I've got more than the mentioned goal stashed in liquid accounts, not counting IRAs
  3. Get a queen or king sized bed. That's right. We have two twin beds. I wish we had a big bed, but we've been broke. We'll we aren't broke anymore. Starting to save for a few large purchases once I get that awesome paycheck. Finally got a queen sized bed when we moved to our new apartment.
  4. Buy two veggies from a farmers market that I've never cooked before. Zucchini, red cabbage, and kale. I didn't like the kale
  5. Solve a Rubik's Cube. Done. On a Christmas vacay where I wasn't allowed to drink
  6. Have a romantic no strings attached fling  It was incredible
  1. Vlog every day for one month. This one will be harder than above no doubt. I'm having a hard enough time trying to blog for 30 days straight. I don't think this one will make me grow as a person at all.
  2. Have a dedicated workout room. Eeeeeeee. I want this sooo bad. A nice room, no carpets or rugs. Where I can lift, dance, stretch and practice forms. It'll probably be a garage or something. We won't be buying a house before I turn 30, I think.
  3. Major couples vay-cay go on a major vacation with K-Swiss. A week at least. A foreign country probably.  Removed for obvious reasons
  4. Attend my 10 year high school reunion. It'll be sometime this summer. I didn't go and I don't regret it
  5. Earn a black belt if the above is KSW. If not KSW, be dedicated and consistent. It's all I can do. This is no longer a major goal for me
  6. Squat my weight. This will be on the tail end of my 30 by 30 because once I start martial arts, I'm quitting the Y. I'll first need a barbell and weights at home. This is no longer a major goal, I still do strength training, but not as a primary focus. Also I don't own a bar.
  7. Bench my weight. I'll need to add a bench to the above purchases. See above
  8. Visit all the Smithsonian Museums. I've probably done this already, but I want to do it as an adult. I know I will not be able to accomplish this in the next 6 months
  9. 365 Days of Photos. And, yes, some of these will be outfit photos :) Impossible to do this now since it's less than a year from when I turn 30
