Johnny C and Glee

Going through the blog roll this morning, I stumbled upon a JoCo post about a song to be aired on Glee. It appears to be a shameless rip-off of Jonathan Coulton's arangement of Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back."

In the line where Sir Mix-a-Lot sings "Mix-a-Lot's in trouble" JoCo sings "Johnny C' in trouble" -- so does the Glee cast. Is there anyone named Johnny C in Glee?
Here are the two recordings overlaid: https://soundcloud.com/suudo/joco-vs-glee-baby-got-back

It just sounds like they didn't even try.

I don't know anything about the legalities regarding covers and original arrangements, but it doesn't appear that JoCo is asking for royalties. Just the courtesy of recognizing that this is his arrangement which very much changed the feel of the song.
